When you reach the junction no1 on map take the left hand track marked A in the picture on the left. Keep to the main track straight ahead ignoring paths to the left and right. When you reach the picture on the right Stane Street runs across from left to right. Take the path marked X in the picture which is slightly to your right and starts to go uphill. |

At the next junction you meet the South Downs Way where you turn right along the fence shown in the picture on the left. At the next junction picture on the right the SDW goes left and after a bit bears right to Bignor Post picture below left |

Carry on up the SDW as in walk 13 to the junction in the picture on the right. The SDW now turns left but you go straight on A in the picture |

Across to Houghton Forest and the Denture that runs from Whiteways Lodge to Bignor |
When you reach the corner of the field your path runs diagonally to your right as the picture on the left.Take the path into the wood bearing slightly left and uphill eventually joining a track running across from left to right. Turn left here and take the first footpath that is on the right.After a short distance it turns sharp right through trees then bears left across an open field.Keep on this wide track until the next junction where you turn left down hill as the picture on the right. |

Next you join a road and follow it to the junction where you turn right and in a short distance take the entrance to Dale Park. Picture on the left. Follow it round eventually bearing round to the right. Carry straight on past the entrance to the house on your left then to the junction in the picture on the right. Turn left here and when the track bears right as in the picture on the lower left carry straight on eventually bearing slightly to your left and ending at the gateway in the picture below right |

Go through the gate and follow the track through the trees until the junction in the picture on the right which is just before the open field. Turn right. |

Keep to this track and when you see a field on your right keep to the track nearest to it.When you reach the junction as the picture on the left turn right and in a short distance the grass area opens out. If you did walk 14 you will recognise the opening on the right as it is the path that you came to after coming down Great Down from Bignor Hill. |

Carry straight across this grass area dropping down into a lane as in the picture above right. Downe's Barn is on your right. Keep to this lane all the way back to the gate in the picture on the left to your car by the college. |
