This walk takes you from Slindon
through Gumber Farm, along Stane Street to Bignor Hill.
Returning by way of Great Down

From the A29 take the road to Slindon and park alongside the wall by the college.
Distance 7 miles. Time 3 hours.

Walk along to the corner bear left and then right downhill. Picture

Carry on along the lane.To your left across the field you will see Slindon Folly |

At the junction take the right fork. Picture on the left.The track now becomes stony as the picture on the right. |

When you reach the gateway in the picture on the left this is Stane Street running across in front of you. Turn right here. The fields around Gumber Farm are always full of sheep |

Just before the gateway in the picture on the left is a seat. A nice
spot for a coffee and a sandwich.From here with a pair of binoculars
you can see the lifeboat station at Selsey |

Take the path in the left corner that runs south, a short distance to the junction in the picture on the left.Turn right and follow the track round to the junction in the picture on the right. Turn left and keep on this path to the gate in the picture below left |

Carry straight on across the open field eventually between fences to the opening in the picture on the right |

Carry on again to the gate in the picture on the left. This meets a road and head down it to the village of Slindon turn right follow the road round past the cottages in the picture on the right to your car by the college. |

Walk 13,14, 15 are all walks in the area north of Slindon, if you take note of the paths you go by and check your map you will notice that you can easily link from one walk to another, and once you are familiar with the area you will be able to alter your walk to suit the time you have and the distance that you want to walk. |
