A walk at Graffham in West Sussex

This walk takes you from the village of Graffham at the foot of the north side of the South Downs through Seaford college grounds and the Lavington horse stud

On the A 285 just past Duncton traveling towards Petworth take the minor road on your left for Graffham. At the crossroads turn left signposted for Graffham and follow this road to the church at the foot of the downs. This is an ideal walk for an evening stroll or if you want to keep out of the mud for a change.

Route from A285 to the village of Graffham at the foot of the South Downs

Go just past the church and park on the left hand side of the road. Head through the gateway picture on left and continue up the road. Picture on the right
To your right is the steep north face of the South Downs. Carry on past the entrance to the Lavington horse stud. By now you may have seen some of the horses in the fields to your left
Eventually you see the college buildings in the picture on the left. At the gate across this road turn left and follow the track in the picture on the right
At the next junction turn left and carry on through the gate in the picture on the right. Carry on up this road going past a small stable block to the next junction
These pictures were taken at the end of March and there were lots of horses in the fields

Carry straight on ahead as picture on the left. Turning left at the end, along the road in the picture on the right.
Walk past the school playground to the road and turn left back to your car

The blue routes on the map are extensions to this walk the first one taking the road to Upper Norwood and then taking the bridal way across to Graffham village and then walking through the village back to your car.

The other one just takes you to the same road and is just a small addition to the walk
